I write about the sacred act of seeing. At Non-Prophet, I take the most foundational stories we have — the narratives of the Torah — and read them closely, the same way I'd read a brand or a place: whole, for what's present and what's beneath. I spent two years in Jerusalem learning to read these texts line by line, and I've come to think the Torah is startlingly clear-eyed about people.
